After reading great reviews of the `new` Kolbeh, post rebuild, I was excited to go there again. I was very disappointed. Gone was the great service I remembered, it was replaced by nearly sullen and careless service. We stood near the door for several minutes, then were simply waved in and told to sit wherever we wanted. That was fine, but it was far from welcoming. We didn't wait long to place our order and water was brought out quickly. We ordered the Sabze plate, which came with generous portions of tomato, onion, basil, cucumber feta and pita bread but no plates. We were forced to eat using our napkin as a plate. We started feeling rushed when our entrees, (Barg and Joojeh kebabs) arrived before we had made a dent in the Sabze. At least plates for the sabze accompanied the entrees. Strangely, our waiter then silently (as always) removed our table’s empty water glasses, including the one from which my guest was drinking! My Joojeh kebab was delicious, steaming hot and tasty. The higher than remembered prices seemed a little more reasonable considering the generous portions. My guests Barg Kebab was rubbery and full of gristle. He couldn't finish it. All in all, a disappointing experience. We could count the words spoken to us by our waiter with one hand. A somewhat friendlier server replaced him without a word mid stream but she didn't attempt to engage with us either, and we were left feeling like Kolbeh's service has gone downhill. On a positive note, the poorly hung artwork was beautiful. An artist’s touch could make the restaurant shine with a bit of rearranging and professional picture hanging.
